Back in April the Cleveland Browns made the bold move of taking Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma 1st overall in the NFL draft. That pick was greeted with a mixture of emotions. Lots of hating, lots of desperate loyalty and faith. Well here we are relishing in the wake of a nationally broadcasted prime time game where the spunky former walk on entered the game down 14-3 and led the Brownies back from the dead with a 21-17 victory over the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.

The haters have been converted or at least gone into hiding and Northeast Ohio has a new mayor of Cleveland. Even “former Browns fans turned Steelers fans” are using Baker as the reason to grease the wheel to come back to the hometeam (please don’t allow this, there is no room on the Browns bandwagon for these lowest common denominators of humans). Cleveland travels out west to take on YAAAAAAA RAIIIIDAAAAZZZZZ in the Black Hole with the rook leading the offense. Here’s to hoping that the Baker Mayfield led Browns will consistently look like a real life professional football organization that ya know, wins games on the regular, becomes the new TYPICAL BROWNS.

In addition to the coherent offense, the Browns also brought in new placekicker Greg Joseph who also played a role in the Browns’ W last Thursday by … wait for it… making his kicks! WELL WOULD YA JUST LOOKATTHAT?!?! Good QB play and kickers making kicks translates to wins! NEAT!!!

Timmy Derp’s Derpers and Chuck Deal are the two franchises that own Mayfield and Joseph respectively and as always the FFBMCO press were at the heart of the action and managed to grab a few comments from each:

FFBMCO – AS the savvy owner of Timmy Derp’s Derpers who drafted Baker Mayfield last month, what are you feeling right now?

Tim Stiffler – So tight. I finally may have a legit FFBMCO difference maker. Now I can keep him over beat Carr after the season.

FFBMCO – So is Carr on the market to the other 19 franchises?

Tim Stiffler – Not quite, probably not until Baker’s bye at the earliest

FFBMCO – OK, just checking. Any other remarks you’d like to make after that wonderful display Baker put on?

Tim Stiffler – Baker Mayfield is Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers combined and I can’t believe the Browns AND my Derpers have him. I truly believe we can both make the playoffs now. What a time to be alive!

&

FFBMCO – After the Browns’ big win, how does I feel to have their new kicker who had a perfect night in the victory?

Charlie Sweeney – I love it so much. The two first named udfa with a 69% college make rate. Couldn’t scream Browns more…and he’s gonna be a STUD!

FFBMCO – Wonderful. Think he will be Chuck Deal’s kicker the rest of 2018 here?

Charlie Sweeney – Until Greg the Leg (Zuerlein) is back at least.

FFBMCO – Any other closing remarks on the whole situation?

Charlie Sweeney – To be continued when we see Josh Gordon stat line Sunday then we can say approve or disapprove of Browns’ personnel decisions.

There you have it folks. The general consensus is that the heavy majority of people in the area are once again emotionally invested in the Browns. Here’s to hoping.

Bless’m goes once again to LM’s Gamblers who has the 3 for 3 Hat Trick to start the season. He is on an absolute terror and already has his 13th career FFBMCO victory (not counting PLAYOFFS?!?!) which matches the 4 year regular season win sum of Burkhardt Bandits, the franchise he replaced and instantly made a contender. It took Little Michael a season + 3 weeks to accumulate 13 wins while it took former owner Joe Dunbar 4 seasons to total 13. WHEW! WHAT A GREAT AUDIENCE!!! LM’s Gamblers dumped 165.22 on another family member, this time cousin Chuck Deal. He also destroyed Chuck Deal in a Big Ben v Bortles sidebet for greens fees. FOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Beat’m travels east to Pittsburgh, Pa where The Replacements summed up 53.98 points in their loss vs Norahsaurus Rex. Owner of The Replacements, Joe Kline, is still adjusting to being a puppy dad. Baby Rudy the doodle is sucking up a lot of Joe’s time which obviously means less time for his franchise strategizing. Bow wow wow.

A new tool added to the FFBMCO arsenal has been going live in a pilot phase the past 2 weeks.

GroupMe is a free app with our own league specific real time chat room. 5 owners have been using it to generally positive reviews. GroupMe describes itself as follows “GroupMe brings group text messaging to every phone. Group message with the people in your life that are important to you.”
Look out for an invite to hop in the FFBMCO GroupMe thread, it’s free and the app is clean and it’s another tool in the toolbox to get in touch with, trash talk to, and wheel and deal with your fellow owners.

Another friendly tip for owners is that if you have a player who is designated as out in Yahoo (red O next to name), you are able to stash that player on one of your IR spots even though they technically aren’t on the injured reserve. This might come in handy and could prevent you from having to drop a current player for a plug in player if you have a player on a bye or something like that. Just a tidbit for you. Knowledge is power.

LM’s Gamblerz are steamrolling the September contest. Big Ben has a total of 113 points so far and is a lock to win a hat for his owner. The rich get richer!

We’re sitting at 3 3-0 teams and 4 0-3 teams.
