The schedule is sewn up and action for our 14th year officially KICKS OFF tonight. There are 8 teams in the side hustle for a one off prize of $160 at the conclusion of Super Bowl LXI where Nick Fischer & Miley Cyrus are rumored to headline. As always, anyone who is not FFBMCO playoff?!?!?!? eligible at season’s end will have the option to hop in a separate $10 Peasant’s Winter winner take all 3 week pool that runs the duration of our FFBMCO postseason.
A little 14th year surprise…Chesty McDoon’s lost an instant classic in FFBMCO Bowl XIII on a combo of two Puka Nacua catches being ruled incomplete (if either was a catch Chesty wins) and Bijan Robinson beasting a massive run to end that infamous MNF game (if that didn’t happen or was called back on a hold Chesty wins even with the Puka incompletions). In his depression, Shaun wanted nothing to do with 2nd place or any type of 2nd place money. As such, he graciously decided to donate it to the prize pool for this season, so each of our 4 contests have a little more JUICE this year. Thanks Shaun and Chesty McDoons and maybe even Chuck Deal, our reigning champion (what kind of world do we live in today?).
With that, the September contest which will run weeks 1-3 (tonight – MNF 9/28) and will be tied to FFMBCO owners’ starting QB TD to INT net ratio. If Doug Flutie flings 7 TDs but 5 picks over these 3 weeks, that owners’ QB contest score would be “2.” Tie breaker #1 will be FFBMCO record after 3 weeks and tie breaker #2 will be cumulative FFBMCO points after 3 weeks. Since this is QB related (shoutout Cleveland Browns Frowns Clowns), we can really get into our armchair QB critiques…especially while lounging in a nice outdoor/tailgate chair.
