This year 65 trillion failing fantasy leagues nationwide will close their websites for good. If things don’t change soon, FFBMCO headquartered out of Akron, Ohio will become just another statistic.

In 2013, visionaries Shaun Herrick & Brian Lilley-Longville made the decision to stop wasting time and effort in half assed leagues and follow their lifelong dream of creating a challenging yet enjoyable 4 division/20 team keeper league…one league to dedicate time and effort to during the NFL season. One league to rule them all.

Housed on the Yahoo Fantasy Sports platform, Shaun and Brian easily orchestrated the goal and format of the league, and quickly pulled in and set up 18 other franchises in addition to a 3rd party website. The owner base was excited and willing to play in this fresh, new format.

At $50 a pop, FFBMCO thrived in its first year. Owners were engaged, there was spirited competition and trash talking, and Bob Goricki’s Brick Tamland squad was crowned inaugural king.

All the stars seemed to align and it looked as if this innovative new league was built for the long haul…or so we thought.

Even though all 20 owners wanted to return for season 2, the 2014 campaign opened on thin ice from the start. There was a disgruntled ex-commissioner destined to be a pain in the ass all year long.
3

There was a scuffling, lethargic owner who decided to go on a no internet/no cell phone/off the grid exotic adventure WITHOUT submitting his keepers by the required time. The furious 3 commissioners were forced to make a brash yet secret decision – kick out the owner and then frantically try and auction his team off, all while maintaining financial integrity of the league, or vote on who his 5 keepers should be.
4

Then came multiple deadbeats not paying their entry fee by draft night, some of whom were still unpaid a month into the season.
5

Pepper in some confusion on the rules that have existed since day one and FFBMCO had a nice shitstorm on its hands. Owners and commissioners started to clash.
6

Even the new Comeback Player of the Year Award was tainted…
7

To top it all off, even year two champion Kyle Herrick and his Default Team Name gang couldn’t enjoy life at 100%…

This isn’t even all of the issues FFBMCO encountered last season. Example after example could be regurgitated here but we’ll spare you.
Over the course of the season, all of that mounting tension that started as a simmer slowly came to a boil. Animosity between owners and negative feelings towards the league itself started to bubble up.

Before things could get out of control, Shaun and Brian decided to pull back the doors, bust open the books and make a call…to LEAGUE RESCUE.

May be a dumb question but I don’t remember last year since my mind is moving slow from late night diaper changes and sleepless nights.

Will we know everyone’s keepers before the draft?

Yep, keepers will be in 8/20 and the draft is 8/27 so we will all have a week to craft our strategies.
