In it’s 6th year of existence FFBMCO finds itself in uncharted waters. Never before has there been any attempts made for “temporary trades” or “rental trades” if you will…until now.

In a nutshell, these are transactions where owner 1 ships a future pick over to owner 2 for a player owner 2 has on their roster to cover an injury, bye week, whatever. Here are the three real life examples:

1. FunkyEngineThatCould (Cam Newton on bye) sends 2019 3rd to Best in the World for Ryan Tannehill and 2019 8th.
After that weeks’ matchup, FunkyEngine sent Tannehill back and the two teams swapped 4th round picks.
Result – Immaterial, Tannehill scored 0.00, no impact
(since there was no policy in place, nothing will be reversed and the transaction stands)

2. Poo Puncher Unrated (Matthew Stafford on bye) sends 2019 3rd and Lamar Jackson to Timmy Derp’s Derpers for David Carr and 2019 8th.
After this weeks’ matchup, Poo Punchers will send David Carr back for Lamar Jackson.
Result – TBD, occurring this week
(since there was no policy in place, nothing will be reversed and the transaction stands as both owners want this to go through)
3. LM’s Gamblerz (Alvin Kamara on bye) sends 2019 3rd and K. Juszczyk to King of Cleveland for Sony Michel and 2019 8th.
After this weeks’ matchup LM’s Gamblerz will send Sony Michel back and they would swap same round picks.
Result – TBD, occurring this week
(since there was no policy in place, nothing will be reversed if the current rental vote passes but both owners are fine with this transaction getting cancelled if the vote fails)

– We will always have a trade deadline right around the beginning of the second week of November so potential impacted matchups would be September & October.

– The commissioners will enforce the “follow up” portion so that no owner gets left high and dry

That is where FFBMCO currently stands. We need all 20 owners to cast a vote on whether or not these “rental trades” should be allowed in our league.

A vote of yes means that for this year these can continue if two owners decide to make a deal with minimal/no rules around it, and then a set of official guidelines/policies around it going into next year and beyond that will be published in the rules section of the site.

A vote of no means that these will be rejected starting at poll end.

The poll will end when it’s mathematically impossible for one of the motions to pass or when all 20 members vote.

Be kind. Please rewind.
